I worked in social services and family communications during my 20’s and 30’s and entered law school at UBC when I was 35.  During my time in social services, I was extensively involved in community development, in particular, I was one of the founding volunteers for the Marguerite Dixon House for women subjected to violence in Burnaby and then went on to be a long term board member of the Progressive Housing Society, which developed housing for persons suffering from mental disorders.  My volunteer career culminated in my receiving the Burnaby Volunteer of the Year award just prior to starting my legal career.  Throughout my legal career and until 2012, I continued to volunteer as a board member for Cameray Child and Family Services, a multi-faceted service society for children and families in crisis in Burnaby.

After completing my law degree at UBC and being called to the bar, I decided to pursue a career in family law, focusing on conciliation and collaboration, using the communication skills I had developed while working in social services.  I have practiced with Goluboff Mazzei since 1990, with a two year hiatus doing poverty law in the Downtown Eastside of Vancouver between 1995-1997.  I then returned to Goluboff Mazzei and have been practicing all aspects of family law in West Vancouver, with a continuing focus on collaborative and co-operative family law, family law agreements and family court cases.
